Fans raise funds to help racers: National Speed Sport News raffled off its unique Sam Bass-designed Richard Petty-themed guitar at the International Motorsports Industry Show in Indianapolis in early December, 2009. All proceeds to ticket sales were split between the Steve King Foundation and the USAC Benevolent Fund. The foundation received $785 to help racing families heal. USAC sprint-car driver Jon Stanbrough pulled the winning ticket, which ironically carried the name of USAC Benevolent Fund head man Bill Marvel
